T. James Connell
Chairman and CEO
A publishing and marketing veteran, Jim Connell brings 30+ years of publishing and
marketing experience to the field of custom publishing. He has had publishing
responsibility for more than 100 consumer and business magazines, two book publishing
ventures, a design agency, and related computer software businesses. Jim's experience is
a significant asset to CCI/Crosby's custom publishing clients who seek to build greater
brand and company awareness through strategic custom publishing strategies. Jim has
been instrumental in developing several divisions of CCI, including Lifestyle INK,
CCI/Crosby, and the Home Entertainment Group, all divisions of International Data
Group (IDG). Jim's publishing career includes positions as Chairman and CEO of Argus
Press Group, Publishing Director of Polystyle Publications, Limited, and Executive Vice
President of a major publishing holding company, with interests in multiple enterprises.
In addition to his leadership at CCI/Crosby, Jim has also served as Executive Director for IDG Strategic Development.
Stephen P. Crosby
Founder, Publisher
Steve Crosby has a wide-ranging background in publishing, technology, and public policy work. A lawyer by training, he is currently Dean of the McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies at University of Massachusetts Boston. His career also has included positions as Chief of Staff and senior cabinet member for two Massachusetts governors. In education and technology, Steve is Chairman of the Center for Applied Special Technologies (CAST), a leader in the universal design of software tools for K-12 students. In 1991, after many years as partner in the contract publishing firm Crosby Vandenburgh Group, Steve founded CCI/Crosby Publishing as a joint venture with International Data Group (IDG). He has taken a leadership role in the creation and growth of publications including
Cable in the Classroom and Threshold for Cable in the Classroom;
Better Viewing for cable television operators;
Teachers' Digest for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; and
Stargazer for Bell Atlantic Video Services. Steve continues to be a popular radio commentator and print columnist, writing for and making frequent appearances on New England Cable News (NECN), WGBH-TV, WBUR-FM (NPR), and the
Boston Globe.
Judy Campbell
Vice President, Publishing and Business Development
An educator, marketing specialist, and publishing expert, Judy Campbell's career
includes work as a classroom teacher, several terms as an elected member of a school
board, and work in education policy, along with extensive experience in educational
publishing. Judy has held senior level management positions for major textbook and
supplemental publishers and has led major marketing initiatives for textbook adoptions.
She has also led the development of a national K-6 basal health program. In her work
with CCI/Crosby, Judy works collaboratively with publication sponsors, advertisers and
content partners to maximize the messaging, targeting and impact of custom publications.
William G. Weber
Executive Editor
An experienced editor with more than 30 years in print and electronic publishing, Bill Weber has worked on daily newspapers, monthly magazines and websites in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Massachusetts. He has been a senior-level editor at the Boston Herald, Boston Magazine, TeenAge Magazine and NewReview. While Television Editor for the Boston Herald, he won multiple national honors for the paper’s television-guide design and innovative content. Also during his tenure with Herald Media Inc., he led the creative team that launched BostonHerald.com, the company’s 24-hour news website, and served as its editor for four years. From 2001-2005, Bill got a first-hand view of the association and non-profit world as Director of Communications & Marketing for the Massachusetts Bar Association. Under his leadership, the association won awards for its website design, print publications and marketing activities, and Bill was a frequent conference panelist on electronic-communications issues. Most recently, Bill developed and
launched SmallBizResource.com, a technology-focused website that targets the nation’s 4 million small-business owners and entrepreneurs.
